Hey ummm. Not to sound like a total asexual ig but can we think abt why "someone posts hate of a kink/fetish" immediately links to "this person hates trans women" like...
#txt#NOT SAYING THIS IN TOTAL DEFENSE OF THE OG POST BC I THINK THE WORDING WAS VERY BIZARRE AND COULDVE BEEN BETTER BUT...#it seems like a kind of insane jump to make to me?? but ig it doesnt help that ive always been a bit wary of connecting queerness to kinks#so the jump in logic just doesnt make sense to me unless ur connecting a group of people directly towards a specific fetish.. scratches head#not 2 say i even hate the fetish/kink in question but this whole situation has been very bizarre (+im also wary of transphobia accusations-#-like that when in the past few years we've had multiple creeps willing to pedojacket transfems in order to avoid consequences for ACTUAL-#harmful kinks/fetishes so its just like...#ok anyways. feel free to agree or disagree im not gonna say i support n**tr*nc*s ever or deny how transfems feel but i just think we should-#-maybe all step back for a second and remember that this is tumblr dot com

Ok so i have to publish stuff for one of my classes. and I am publishing it to tumblr dot com
Please don't be mean I'm sorry.
Poetry Portfoilio:
I Come from poem
I come from rainstorms
Softly tapping the windows,
Nourishing the ground
Rainbows are just around the corner,
And yet nobody wants it to end
Soft and comforting
I come from rainstorms
With howling winds,
Beating at the doors,
flooding ponds and
Spattering against the window
Ripping petals off flowers
Violent and merciless
I come from cool mornings,
With fuzzy sweaters and hot tea
Coffee weak to with sugar and cream
Favorite spices stirred in
Trees are turning bright colors in the distance
Rubbing sleep from your eyes
I com from cool mornings,
With harsh wind biting cheeks and noses
Painfully early
Headaches from trying to remember a forgotten dream
And burning fevers
I come from mist and fog
Warm mornings with honeysuckle perfume
Birds in the far distance chirp
Of a new day
Covered in a fluffy white sweater
I come from mist and fog
Shrouding the distance
âDanger, Dangerâ whispers the trees
A snake slithers unseen on the forest floor
Mystery itself is fearful
I come from power herself
Spring spots poem
flowers peeking through honeysuckle vines
with bowed heads from the weight of the world
and pink stretch marks from holding it up
they do not care, they know they are strong and beautiful
and yet tired all the same from the thankless work
more flowers appear,
this time with anger that they hold the weight of the world
they have bowed heads too, they are also tired
they do not want to clean up thanklessly after others
just like the previous generation
yet they are tired, because they do it too,
and try to explain they they do not have to be the only ones to help
the first flowers fade, wrinkling and fading
tired out, exhausted
they droop to the ground
without mourning save but from the other flowers
just as they fall
more flowers bloom in their place
not picking up the weight of the world,
they have seen the damage it does
they do not want to hurt
they try to convince the other plants and creatures to help,
telling them that the damage wonât be so great
but the others just laugh
After all, why would they pick up, why would they work when they hadn't before?
they wouldn't be hurt either way
it stings, it hurts
so when the last generation dies
there is a frost
everyone suffers
the other plants are mad at the flowers
for not picking up the weight of the world
the flowers are angry, because the other plants will not listen
only cruelly twist their words against them
so when the next flowers appear
the dying second set of flowers tell them not to pick it up
for the other plants will eventually pick up their share
the new flowers won't pick it up,
and they try to explain that everyone needs to help
but the other plants wonât listen
and the cycle repeats, it looks doomed
When will the other plants learn?
Will the flowers ever get a break?
Sonnet
Sonnet to people who wonât wear a mask
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day
For thou art hasn't even a bit of class
You look like an animal that eats hay
Say, thou art even dressed the part,( donkey)
You killed a baboon and stolen itâs face
you're a murderer and uncunning thief
your mother never gave you an embrace
but a mere peek of your face causes grief
You are steadfast to theories of fraud
you use sources from all except science
At logic you have stridently guffawed
doctors receive only your defiance
To the nearest grocery employee
I say: run! covid is a guarantee
4 word poem
444Early thunder webs porch
I woke up early this morning
Packed my bag, took a quick shower,
Stepped onto the webbed porch
Walked down to the nearest train station
The city was already bustling, but in a tired sort of way
I boarded the metro, and dozens of ghostly eyes glanced up,
Haunted by the lack of sleep, decimated by the stresses
Only one pair of them saw me, I knew.
It was myself at a young age
visiting the art museum with my mother and brother
I still remember that trip.
If only my naive self knew what would happen.
What would become of me
What will happen
These Have I Loved
Cars whizzing past my house, blaring the radio, the sharing their snippets of sound
Raindrops dripping down a window,
The smell of baking bread in the oven, and the sizzle of eggs on the stove,
A book by the crackling fire,
Inky calligraphy, a page of scribbles for warming up the ink
Shooting stars speeding by, a gasp and a hundred thousand silent wishes
The stars and the moon, shining bright,
White roses dyed with split stems
Chalk monsters on driveways
Clouds forming and shifting, butterflies flitting between the bushes
Honeysuckle flowers picked and nectar greedily sipped out
Lumps of moss gently placed in potting soil, caringly watered.
666 this is just to say
This is just to say:
I forgot to text you back
I forgot to write the email
I promise I was thinking of you
I promised I havenât forgotten
I miss you so much
I promise I love you still
I promise I promise I promise
I am thinking of you
I care, but I canât write the email
I promise I tried
Forgive me

A one-eyed space cat,
Staring with unwavering attention,
Never bothering to shake the glittering dust off its coat
It keeps a silent sigil
A bitten cookie,
Rudely munched on by ants
They didnât even notice the silver and gold leaf
In their hunger, it was just more food
The cat is growing sleepy
It has been there for millenia
Ever watching, waiting
Why does it stay? What is going to happen?
A teacup,
Left with only the bitter dregs,
Someone forgot to take the teabag out
The last drops are cold and strong
Maybe the cat drank it
A colourful stamp on paint named âSatin nightâ
Spotted and not quite perfect
Maybe from a cork
Slammed so hard the paint spattered
And made stars
I remember poem
I remember sticking my hands and head out the car window as we sped down the highway at sunset, speakers resounding our favorite songs on cassette,
Walking around the city with balloons in hand- we had picked them for the other
I remember laying on the rooftop, and you showed me my star sign, and yours, and your favorite constellations and their stories,
And I remember your face when I gave you a strawberry plant that I grew just for you
I remember making our playlist, with all our favorite songs, and it was fun because you tried to add words to the titles to make them funny because
I remember âItâs Not a Fashion Statement, Itâs A Deathwish, Momâ and âBring Me to Life, Momâ
And I remember your anger when they called me that word.
I had to hold you back to keep you from hurting them.
You flat ironed my hair, and I remember dyeing yours neon green.
I remember slow dancing in our room, with lit scented candles to spotify playlists and McDonaldâs ads.
I remember growing ivy on the staircase with you
I remember your smile
4 word sketch poem
Firstborn, whistle, moonlight, strings
The whistle of the first firework,
it screeches up into the dusk.
The strings it releases explode and crackle,
A chorus of gasps and Oohs and Ahs
As the firstborn child sneaks away, unnoticed.
Itâs fine, that was their plan anyways.
Fireflies are twinkling, traffic is clogged and congested.
They round the corner, pacing fast but quietly, the way they learned in 5th grade.
The boots make it difficult, so they tiptoe on the narrow strip of grass that lays next to the sidewalk.
Theyâve reached their destination: the pharmacy.
It's hard not to attract attention when youâre the only customer in the store.
A few minutes later, they leave, crinkly plastic bag in hand,
Nearly sprinting towards their family.
Theyâve only been gone for five minutes, but
The fireworks and the fact that theyâre normally quiet has kept their family from alarm.
They sneak back into the circle,
doling out candy to delighted brothers and sisters,
The parents have no idea.

Gotcha by Mari
An very happy anniversary is coming up soon!
Fanfiction.net has fixed the glitch from earlier in the week and the story is now available on their site:
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13736072/1/
Sammy & Ilna - love you both to the moon and back. Thank you for being you.
REALMcRollers and Readers - Thank you all, always.Â
Gotcha
DJ and Michael were comparing Halloween stories with their friends before class when their classmate April entered wearing a huge smile, followed by her parents. Several second graders echoed their hellos before the questions began.Â
âYou got cupcakes?â
âAre those for us?â
âItâs not your birthday, your birthday is the same week as mine.â
âAre we havinâ a party, Ms. Lane?â
Aprilâs parents greeted the children and as Joni Lane stepped closer with an offer to help, they smiled brightly. âHope weâre not late, Caleb is teething,â Mr. Milton said with a nod to the sleeping baby in his wife's arms. âWe got a little behind.â
âNot late at all,â Joni directed the smiling man with the box of cupcakes into the classroom. âApril,â she addressed the seven year old who was wearing an orange shirt and matching print shorts. âWould you like to tell our friends why weâre celebrating today?â
April nodded and raised her shoulders and clapped in excitement. âTodayâs my gotcha day!â
DJ and Michael exchanged a look. April didnât say anything about bringing in a treat and when his best friend elbowed him playfully and whispered, âEsther and Kamekonaâs cupcakes, yum,â DJ smiled broadly.Â
âWhatâs a gotcha day?â A classmate named Yuko asked.
âTodayâs the day I came to live with my family!â April explained.Â
âOh!â DJ grinned. âLike your official day? Iâm official, too.â
âLetâs take our seats, friends, and we can hear why weâre getting this lovely treat to share from April and her family.â Joni said as the second graders scrambled to their desks.
âActually,â Aprilâs mom explained once everyone was seated. âToday is the anniversary of the day April came to live with us.â She bent to kiss her daughterâs cheek.Â
âI got officially adopted in July when I was four,â she held up as many fingers. âBut in our family we celebrate both days for everybody,â she glanced at her father. âRight, Daddy?â
âExactly right, honey.â He looked at her classmates. âAprilâs sister and brothers came to us at different times, but they all becameâŚâ he smiled at DJ, âofficial on the very same day. So we celebrate their adoptions on July 7th and each of their gotcha days, too.â
Kim Milton rocked her sleeping baby as she spoke. âEveryone was adopted the same day, well, except, Caleb, here. He wasnât born yet. But heâs going to be officially ours right around Christmas.â
âThatâs awesome!â DJ couldnât contain his enthusiasm. âHappy gotcha day, April!â He knew his classmate and her siblings were also adopted, theyâd talked about it during recess more than once after her baby brother joined her family, but he didnât know the day you joined your family was called a gotcha day. Â
âThanks, DJ!â Her happy expression lit the room, and as the children offered their congratulations and the class came to order, he wondered if Joan and Uncle Aaron knew about gotcha days. He couldnât wait to ask them.
///
Hopping into the car when both parents came for pickup that day, DJ greeted them with âWe had cupcakes, April brought them. Well, her dad carried them cause there was a lot, and we all already went to her birthday party so we didnât know whyâŚâ he took a breath and grinned at Catherine, whoâd pivoted in the passengerâs seat to see his face. âAnd it was her gotcha day. I didnât ever hear of one, so I thought it was her official day anniversary, but nope.â He shook his head. âItâs the day she came to live with her Mommy and Daddy and brothers and sister.â
âThatâs wonderful, what a great idea.â Catherine beamed at her son.Â
âYeah, and âcept for her baby brother, they all got the same official day. He wasnât born then but heâs getting official near Christmas, isnât that cool?â
âThatâs very cool, buddy,â Steve caught his eyes in the mirror and couldnât hold back a smile of his own. âYa knowâŚâ he had a silent conversation with Catherine who grinned in response.
âWhat, Daddy?â
âWell, we were going to keep it a surprise, but ⌠what do you think of a gotcha day celebration?â
âReally? With cupcakes?â
âReally. With anything youâd like. We were thinking about a barbecue with our family and ohana, but you should celebrate with your friends at school, too.â
âAprilâs cupcakes were from Esther and Kamekonaâs âŚâ he bit his lip. âThey were really good, but do you think Kaityln would make those blue velvet ones she invented for my class?â
âWe can ask her, and I bet she'd be very happy to,â Catherine said.
âDo you think Joan and Uncle Aaron know about gotcha days?â He asked.
âI donât know if they call it that, but I know Aunt Mary, Uncle Aaron and Aunt Deb have a special dinner with Joanie every year.â
âCan we call them later and tell them?â DJ was bouncing in his seat. âOh, and guess what?â he laughed.
âWhat, honey?â
âMs. Lane said some people celebrate gotcha days for their pets. Maybe we can get Cammie a marrow bone on her day, and something for our kitty next Halloween?â
Her heart warming at how their son was always thinking of others, Catherine readily agreed. âI think thatâs a very good idea.â
âI canât wait to tell Grandma, Grandpa, and Grandma Ang,â his eyes were lit with excitement.Â
Catherine reached to squeeze Steveâs bicep as they shared a smile.
///
Entering the beach house after picking up Angie, the family greeted Cammie and made their way to the kitchen after going upstairs to get their newest addition. As recommended by the folks at the shelter, for the first few days in her new home the kitty would be confined to âGraceâs roomâ during the days when Steve and Catherine were at work, DJ was at school, and Angie was with Grandma and Grandpa. As soon as she felt completely comfortable sheâd have the run of the house.
As his sister sat across from him, kitty in her lap, enjoying their snack of fruit and yogurt, Cammie lying nearby hoping for something to be dropped, DJ told her about his day and she responded with a toddler-detailed story of her hike with their grandparents. He then explained about his friend bringing in a treat to celebrate her gotcha day and how Mommy and Daddy said they already planned to do something special for his own day next month.
Turning happy brown eyes on his parents, the little boy who became more and more confident every day since being surrounded by unconditional love puzzled, âIâm not sure Angie remembers too much about my gotcha day, she was pretty little. Right Angie?âÂ
âGotcha cuâcakes! Yay foâ you, DJ!â The three year old clapped.Â
âShe may not remember every detail but I know thereâs one thing she remembers for sure,â Catherine kissed each childâs head. âThat right from the start she loved her big brother as much as we did.â
âThatâs okay, if she doesnât remember everything.â He looked at the bubbly little girl. âWe got lots of pictures for when youâre older.â He beamed. âAnd Iâll remember everything forever.â He smiled at their parents. âI can tell Angie how she made me feel happier right away âcause she was super friendly and nice, just like she always is.â
Once again Catheirne and Steve were touched by the closeness of their children. Closeness they couldnât be happier about. And when DJ hugged Angie and she quickly wrapped an arm around him to return the embrace, Catherine wiped a sudden tear as Steve clasped her hand.Â

And now what will Emma do?
Chapter 13
Night has crept over the city, aided by the thick ashen clouds and the light mist of rain slowly dampening everything it touches. The light from the streetlamps diffuse golden on the wet cobblestone streets, guiding tourists and locals alike to the overcrowded pubs and restaurants, casting spotlights on those pulling on their cigarettes and laughing with friends.
Emma doesnât register any of it, faceless people, and nameless places, all passing in a blur. She glances around but her mind is too preoccupied with conjuring up negative scenarios, each one worse than the one before.
Maybe it was his plan to disappear all along.
Heâd had enough of her mess.
Or worse yet, something has happened to him and sheâs been too selfish, thinking only of herself. Should she check the hospitals?
She feels her heart pound, getting itself stuck somewhere in her throat and when she does try to gasp for breath, she freezes again at the sound of her own frantic sob, clamping her hand over her mouth. Her eyes dart around, hoping no one has taken notice and when she sees no adverse reactions, she forces herself to take a measured breath through her nose, and then another.
While she manages to keep breathing, it doesnât stop the traitorous hot tears from continuing to escape from the corners of her eyes, rolling silently down her cheeks.
Her knees clutch tighter at her pack between her legs, as if holding onto that will somehow help her hold herself together. Crazy, but it works, or it works sufficiently enough to make her feel like she wonât shatter right then and there. When her tears begin to abate, she weakly drops her hand to her lap and sucks in a stuttered breath.
As the cooling, damp air reaches her lungs, she closes her eyes and takes a few more calming pulls. She feels the mist against her face, feels the moisture soak into her clothes and the goosebumps that spread across her skin.
For one blissful moment, her terrible thoughts fade and she sees his smile. She sees all the times Killian reached back for her, pulling her through the people, always patient, always waiting.
And she ran away.
She wipes angrily at another stray tear and forces her eyes open.
She has no idea how long sheâs been sitting on the bench, or where she is, or where to look first or--
Her pulse quickens and she forces her feet to push up from the ground, lifting her from the bench, a sudden need to do something because if she doesnât get up from that bench she might never find the strength to. She hoists her bag onto her back and groans at the weight, and itâs a weight sheâs not entirely sure is just from the pack on her shoulders but she doesnât dwell on it, at least not right away.
For now, she is determined to find a street name and a starting point, hostels. Sheâll check all of them.
She fumbles for her phone and with shaky fingers, cold fingers and pulls up a google search. How many could there possibly be?
Fifty according to hostels dot com.
Fifty according to hostelworld dot com.
At least forty-five in her guidebook.
And while many overlap, some donât, so where does that leave her? Sheâs too tired to do the math but without any other plan, she sets off towards the closest red dot on her map, her steps slow but determined.
xo
Her head falls lower and her heart drops further in her chest every time there is no man with dark messy hair in the lobbies she searches. Each confused look from front desk clerks and each time there is no account of a tall man with a British accent her hope shrinks. There is no sign of him anywhere.
Sheâs walked for hours, until most places were full up and closed, or quiet for the night. She walked until her clothes are soaked through and her back aches.
Some clerks are too busy or too tired to care, some clearly think she is crazy, while others who get a better look at her red rimmed eyes and hesitant questions do take more time to really think before shaking their heads.
A few offer suggestions of where she might look and promise to call if they do see him -- she hesitates on what to call him. Boyfriend seemed silly, friend isnât enough, other words tie her stomach in knots and yet --
âHeâs just -- mine. My Killian,â she whispers to yet another sad ânoâ but before she can step away from the counter, the older gentleman at the desk covers her chilled hand with his.
âWhy donât you sit down and warm up a little?â
Emma eyes the front door, knowing only rain and darkness await her. And the overwhelming feeling she is no closer to finding Killian that she had been at the start begins to creep back in. For all she knows, theyâve been going in opposite directions, or he could be fast asleep somewhere warm, or on a bus travelling further away from her as the seconds tick by.
A shiver racks her body.
âIâll fetch you some tea and you can just rest a moment. If he hasnât been in yet, Iâm sure heâll be by soon. You wouldnât want to miss him and I can imagine how frantically he must be looking for you.â
A weathered hand squeezes hers.
âI donât know.â
âIâll be but a moment. I promise.â
Emma spots an overstuffed chair in the corner, faded red plaid material, a thick blanket draped across the back. She can see herself curling up in it and sleeping for days, sleeping until this nightmare is over.
âHave a seat.â
Emma finally relents, her pack a burden she can no longer hold up. She drags her wet sneakered feet to the corner of the room, and unceremoniously dumps her bag on the floor but hesitates before sitting down.
âDonât worry about your wet clothes, itâs only water afterall.â
She turns to find the man watching her patiently before leaving her with a wink.
Itâs only another beat before she finally collapses into the chair, feeling swallowed up by the plush material. She feels small and alone. She kicks her shoes off and draws her feet up, resting her forehead against her knees.
Itâs only when she hears the tea cup settle on the coffee table beside her that she looks up.
Heâs brought her tea and a slice of coffee cake and she could very well cry at the kindness.
âJust remember, while there is tea, there is hope.â
She doesnât know what to say. She doesnât know if she can find the right words and she doesnât know how much hope she has left. The man seems to sense that, so his next move seems more cautious. He hesitates but finally moves slowly to reach into his back pocket and produces a postcard. He holds it close while he searches for his words.
âI think some might think the act of writing love letters is silly or outdated but I still think itâs the best way to say something we might be afraid of saying out loud. Perhaps while you wait for your young man to show up, you can write him a note?â
Emma blinks at him, wondering how he could know her so well. How he could have found exactly what she needed.
She reaches out for the postcard and holds it to her heart long after the man has retreated back to his perch behind the desk. She closes her eyes and knows, if her heart could press the words onto the card, what they would be, she just needs to take that next step and write them herself.
She takes a moment to test them in her mind, to feel the sureness of them before opening her eyes and reaching into her pack. Itâs while she is searching for her pen that her fingers brush against the envelope tucked deep inside her bag.
And somehow, for some reason, this time she doesnât feel the swift paralyzing panic. This time it whispers of hope, of finding lost things, which is something she could really cling to right now, and so she doesnât push it further down into her pack. No, this time she grips it hard with both hands and abruptly tugs it loose.
It falls into her lap, while her pen flies out, sliding across the floor, taking a lone white sock and a hair tie along for the ride. She scrambles to pick them up, shoving the items back in her bag but keeps the envelope and pen close.
She huffs out a breath and lays the envelope flat on her lap, along with the postcard, her emotions warring on what she wants to attempt first. She knows the words she wants to write, feels them, wishes she could could say them to him right now and yet, her hand trembles when she picks up the pen. So she tucks the card between her and the chair and flips the envelope over. And as she did when she first received the package, she draws her fingers across her handwritten name, trying to imagine the woman with the hopeful eyes write it out as carefully as can be, knowing her daughter was going to see it one day. She wonders if the woman herself had drawn a finger over the cursive. She wonders if there is a resemblance to her own writing.
She looks at each letter carefully. Maybe the letter m, perhaps the a.
She shakes her head at her wandering thoughts and reaches a trembling hand out for her tea, savouring the rich flavour as it warms her from the inside out. Her breathing comes easier after another sip and she thinks for a moment that the old man might be right, maybe there is a little bit of hope infused in every cup of tea.
She rests the cup back in the saucer, and with determination finally flips the envelope over, fingers slowly and carefully breaking the seal. There is a part of her that knows that she wonât find all the answers or the peace she is looking for inside that envelope, probably far from it. But if two people, who claim to be her parents, can find her after all this time, want to find her. Maybe there is hope for her yet.
Instead of hesitating any further, Emma lifts the envelope high and dumps the contents onto her lap.
Legal documents, handwritten letters, newspaper clippings, and pictures, dozens of pictures, scatter across her lap. Emma carefully moves the papers around, catching a few words here; confidential adoption, dozens of Dear Emmas, but itâs the pictures that give her pause.
She recognizes the same couple in all of them, it seems to be a timeline of their life, from their adolescent years to some as recent as they looked in the diner that day.
Emma gasps as a small picture slips from the others.
She only has a handful of pictures of herself as a child, never staying with a family long enough to fill an album, uninterested in keeping many mementoes of those years. She certainly had no pictures of herself as a baby.
But.
But one thing has stayed with her all these years, a blanket. A carefully knit, wool, baby blanket, white as snow, a purple ribbon around the edges, the simply trimming, along with her name stitched across the top.
The same blanket she is looking at in an old weathered picture, wrapped tightly around a crying baby.
Impossible.
And yet she is looking at it with her own eyes. Looking at herself.
She fumbles through the papers, frantically searching for an explanation.
She finds it in the form of the most recent âDear Emmaâ.
Emmaâs eyes blur with tears as she tries to read, tries to understand an insane story of two young people falling in love against their parentsâ wishes, of finding out they were pregnant and only wanting to give their daughter her best chance. A deceitful father promising to find the perfect family for their newborn, a family that promised to visit and send pictures and let them see at least a glimpse of their daughter growing up. Only to have been lying all along, selling the baby to the highest desperate bidders.
Emma canât begin to understand the impossible story, the heartbreak, all those words on the pages but she does keep coming back to a certain few.
We never stopped looking for you.
We never stopped loving you.
We always had hope we would find you again.
Her chest tightens. Itâs all so much, maybe too much? And she is not sure if she wants to jump in with both feet and brave the unknown, or stuff it all back in the envelope and pretend like she never read any of it.
Killian would know what to do, she thinks. He would take her hand and tell her how strong and brave and capable she is. He would believe in her when she canât find it in herself to do it.
Are they angry she hasnât answered them? No, Iâm sure they would understand, she remembers him telling her.
What if they donât like me? Impossible, he would press into her skin, whispered words against her forehead, calming her worries and racing heart.
She looks down at the spread of papers in her lap and a thought so strong comes to her, nearly knocking the breath from her lungs. Itâs not the why, or the heartbreaking story of how she was pulled away from her parents, itâs not the proof in the pictures either. Itâs that, these two people never gave up, that they deemed her, Emma Swan, important enough to look for, to hope for, to love. That she was never really alone.
Her emotions bubble back up at that thought, and she thinks, sheâs not alone now. That Killian is out there, she just needs to find him, to not give up, because she lo--
She presses the heels of her hands into her eyes until she see stars.
Think, Emma.
Her mind races through where sheâs already been, she thinks of the hostels she hasnât checked yet.
She could call, she could try and retrace her steps once more, she could put an ad on Craigslist. Her heart picks up at the possibilities, and she feels a little foolish having not gone through her options earlier, ruled purely by her heart and panic.
But firstâŚ
She pulls the postcard out again, more determined than ever and takes in the photograph on the front. The card carries a standard beautiful shot of the Cliffs of Moher but thereâs a text overlay, relaying an assortment of random facts about Ireland.
84,421 square kilometres.
4,726,000 people.
5,500,000 sheep.
Emma finds a brief moment to smile, thinking back to the sheep and flips the card over, her words flowing with surprising ease.
How many miles have we traveled?
How many people and places have we seen?
How many stories will remain with us when this is through?
Iâm not sure, save for one.
I love you. I do, I do.
She drops the pen and leans her head back against the chair, eyes on her messy handwriting. She presses a kiss to her fingers and then brings them to her words.
âEmma!â

The Joker x Reader-Â âHow To Be a Dadâ
The Joker has never been around a pregnant woman before. Actually⌠just once, during a robbery and the poor thing fainted even if he didnât do anything to her. You thought J would be bored with the whole process, but all he says is that he wants to see her NOW. Well, it doesnât really work that way and your boyfriend is not famous for his patience.
â At night, J likes to rest his head on your legs, face turned towards your huge bump.
âWhen is she coming out? I wanna see her!â
âSoon J, be patient.â
Joker and patience donât go in the same sentence.
âBut I wanna see her now, Iâve been waiting forever!â
âItâs happening soon enough.â
âHey, Doll, do you think she already looks like me?â
âNo, not yet.â
He pouts.
âDo you think she knows Iâm her dad?â
âNo, not yet J.â
He frowns.
âDo you think she has green hair?â he snickers, walking his fingers on your tummy.
âNo, baby, no toxic green locks.â
âDo you think she has bright red hair?â
âNo, I dye mine; if anything, Emma will have dark blonde hair, my natural color. Or maybe sheâll have your natural color. Is it brown orâŚ?â âNo, itâs a dark blonde too,â the Joker blurs out and after a few seconds he gasps. âDid you justâŚdid you just make me tell you another one of my secrets, woman?!â
âNooo, I didnât make you do anything,â you smirk, trying not to laugh, all innocent and sweet.
âYouâre sneaky, Y/N, stop it!â he pinches your thigh, aggravated you took advantage of him being smitten with the unborn baby. âOh my God!â J shouts when he notices the small hand moving right under your skin. âThere she is!â he excitedly touches her, sensing the shift. âThis is so cool- cooler than being chased by Batsy,â he admits, huffing. âJerk!â The Joker mutters, then pays attention to you again. âDoes it hurt when she does that?â (he asks this very often and the reply never changes).
âNo, handsome, sheâs just wiggling around. Anxious to get out, Iâm sure. Have you ever been around a pregnant person before?â
âOnce, during a bank robbery. I decided to do it in plain daylight and this lady was there. She fainted.â
âWhat did you do to her?â You try to reach him but canât bend at all.
âNothing, she just passed out when me and my men took over the place. There she is again!â he grins and one of Emmaâs tiny feet stretches out pretty high this time. âDo you know what this reminds me of?â
âNo, but please do share,â you sigh, curious to hear about another crazy idea for sure.
âAliens movie! You think she might just burst out of there?â J pokes your bump, then caresses the skin to feel his daughter once more.
You start giggling, amused:
âI think weâre good on that one. Sheâll come out the right way, no worries.â
âOh, I forgot I got her something,â The Joker suddenly realizes and jumps out of bed.
âMore stuff?!â you tease since the unborn has a room full of baby things.
âThis is better than any of them,â J fumbles inside the closet and finally brings over the shiny diamond tiara he places on top of your tummy. âHere, a Princess should have one,â he excitedly brags and goes back to his favorite spot on your legs.
âWhere did you get it from?!â âGothamâs Bank vault,â he winks, proud of his achievement and scoots closer so you can touch him since you look so pathetic when you keep on trying and fail.
âAnd I was thinking you bought it, baby,â you wrap a strand of his hair around your chubbier than usual finger.
âI did, just forgot to pay,â he mocks, making sure the sparkly crown stays in place.
And you both have a good laugh about it - your boyfriend can be so funny sometimes, even if he thinks heâs funny all the time.
The Joker closes his blue eyes and you brush your index finger against his long eyelashes.
âWhat is it, Pumpkin?â he yawns, opening one eye.
âCould you please bring me a sliced cucumber and chocolate syrup?â
âYuck, I donât know how you can eat that disgusting combo,â he shivers, grossed out by your choices in food lately.
âIâm craving a bunch of weird snacks, I canât help it. Remember last month when all I wanted was apple sauce with radishes and cinnamon powder?â
âEwww, yes. I guess this is an upgrade, Doll. Canât you go in the kitchen and make your own plate? Iâm tired.â
You point out towards your diamond decorated bump:
âI canât move or this will fall.â
âUggghhh, fine, Iâll be back,â J agrees, dragging his feet on the carpet because heâs not in the mood for too much except staring at your belly to see Emma move.
â He feels nauseated watching you munch on your repulsive late dinner. J would love to fall asleep but the damn cucumbers are so crunchy when you bite out of them.
âAre you done, Y/N? I wanna sleep.â
âDone, the last one!â you shove the slice in your mouth and lean over him to place the bowl on the nightstand.
âJesus, Princess, how much do you weight??!!â J puffs under your heaviness, over exaggerating, of course.
Youâre a delicate little flower that doesnât need negative comments.
âWhatever!!!! This is your fault!â you give him a sassy gaze, pinning him under you for a few more seconds this way he learns his lesson.
He just canât talk like that to delicate little flowers.
â I didnât do anything,â The Joker pulls you in for a kiss, purring. âJust had some fun with my girl, the rest⌠youâre responsible for!â he taunts, delighted you canât do too much but squirm on top of him.
âYouâre soâŚsoâŚso,â you stutter, outraged, not being able to find the word.
âWhat is this?!â he puckers his lips, intrigued when he feels it.
You try to look down in between the two of you without success.
âI think my water broke!â
â âPumpkin, are you gonna die?â he growls, checking you out worried sick; heâs been asking this every 5 minutes in the last six hours.
âFor Godâs sake, Iâm not dying !! Iâm giving birth!â, you shriek through your clenched teeth, breathing in and out in a frenzy.
âAre you sure?â J triple checks furthermore.
âYes, Iâm sure,â and you squeeze his hand so hard you hear a few bones crack.
âAuuuchhh, donât break my hand!â he whines, taking a step back.
âTake your rings off!â you urge him, panting. âIt makes it worse.â
He hurries and does it, dumping them in a cup on the table.
âGive me your hand!â you shout, feeling the strong contractions hit your body with paralyzing strength.
âUmmm, donât break it, OK?â he hesitantly gives it back, hoping for the best.
Who knew such a delicate little flower as yourself can have so much vigor?!
âWhereâs my daughter?â The Joker stretches his free arm to lift the sheet covering you from the waist down and regrets it in the next moment. Heâs seen a lot of messed up shit in his life but this takes the cake.
âPretty soon, Mister J,â the doctor replies, wishing the Clown Prince of Crime would just behave and wait.
â Kitten,â J gulps, even more tense. âAre you sure youâre not dying?â
âIâm sure, stop asking!â you groan, resting your head on the pillow. âThis is your fault!â you blame J again, annoyed and in so much pain you are seeing red spots.
Your boyfriend completely ignores your outburst, tilting over to peck your forehead.
âHurry up, Princess, I need to see her!â
âSo sorry about the inconvenience!!!â you scream, muttering something else under your labored breathing. It wasnât a nice statement.
âYuck, Doll, youâre all sweaty!â he complains, wiping his lips.
Huh??! ! Delicate little flowers donât get sweaty!!!!
âJ, youâre not helping!â you state the obvious and push again, exhausted and anxious in the same time. You crush his fingers so hard J thinks his arm fell off. He wants to object but the doctor finally articulates the words heâs been craving to hear for so long:
âAlright, here she is!â and the crying starts after a few seconds.
â First time The Joker held Emma, he forgot to breathe.
âShe looks like a little doll,â he whispers, mesmerized on how cute she is. âHow long do you think it will take before she resembles us?â
âA while,â you take a deep breath and blink slowly, so jaded you can hardly speak.
The little one fusses and he almost panics, not knowing what to do but she calms down when he gently rocks her.
âI thinkâŚI think she smiled at me!â J exclaims. You doubt it, but canât spoil his joy:
Delicate little flowers donât do such things to a man they love.
âThatâs because she knows youâre her dad,â you utter, making it even better for the new father.
âReally?â he kisses her cheek with an almost childish curiosity. âYou think so Y/N?â
âYeah, now that you have her in your arms, she knows,â you rub your face, fighting to stay awake.
The Joker feels so many emotions at once and has no clue how to handle any of them. Heâs not the one to analyze himself but damn, itâs just so overwhelming his chest hurts. Canât be a heart attack, heâs too young. Â
He paces alongside your bed, careful not to wake the newborn.
âHey, Pumpkin, when can we have sex again?â he bites his lip, eager to go back to fun stuff.
âItâs gonna be a while, baby. Not too much, ok?â you quickly add when notice how disappointed he is. â I just basically squeezed a watermelon through a prune so give me some credit. Be patient, please.â
Joker and patience donât go in the same sentence.
âJust hurry up and get better, I have needs!â he sulks but winks when he realizes you donât look too excited at his yapping.
Ahhh, such a charmer.
But you canât rush this process on delicate little flowers.
Even the King of Gotham needs to understand it.

With Blog WordPress Website How To Build an Empire
New Post has been published on https://beingmad.org/with-blog-wordpress-website-how-to-build-an-empire/
With Blog WordPress Website How To Build an Empire
This is what I hear a lot of; how Do I Blog? When you first start out creating a blog, itâs hard to imagine that it can become an Empire. Most of us have these dreams of running an Empire blog, but with so many obstacles to go through, over and under and around. One would believe that there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Dreams keep us alive and keep us going and striving for what we want. A strong desire to achieve and a hatred for failure keeps us piercing forward to grab trophy reward.
Running a blog can be a satisfying experience especially if itâs a blog that teaches. But before we can go about teaching we need to figure out just how to build it and what platform were going to be on. Letâs look at a few things that we need to discuss in order to build our Empire blog.
Domain Registration Most people would like to have a blog that has a dot com name rather than the name of the actual provider i.e., WordPress, Blog, etc. This is where domain name registration comes in at, you simply register a domain for about $12 bucks a year and reroute (DNS) that domain name to your hosting company. For those that donât know what (DNS) is; Domain Name System is the way the distributed naming system for computers and services. It translates IP Addresses with domain names.
Website Hosting You can actually run a blog from an entirely free service and never have to worry about hosting your blog. However, itâs a sense of professionalism and trust in blogs that are hosted with their own dot com name and running from an independently hosted servicer. I would recommend getting a hosting company to host your blog, one that is friendly for your blogging platform. If this is not your area of expertise, there are video tutorials that will help you through the process step-by-step.
Free Platforms Like WordPress Again I can see you asking; how do I blog? Well, there are a few free blogging platforms on the Internet like blogger, Tumblr, blog, Jux, WordPress, Posterous Spaces and Weebly. Some are better than others and to pick one is usually a matter of your personal preference. However, Iâve used a couple of them and would most definitely recommend WordPress because of its versatility and functionality. There are a few sites that are offering video tutorials that tells you everything you need to know about WordPress from set up, themes, plug-ins, affiliate marketing and much, so I wouldnât worry to much about knowing what to do here.
Use Headlines Effectively Imagine writing the best article you ever wrote in your life, only to have absolutely no one read it. Most of us never really think that the title is that important. We usually relate the title to something that has to do with the article and by far, that is the way to go. However, you need to make it compelling enough for your reader so that they will actually click on it to engage in your article. Before you formulate your headline, do a keyword search to find out how many competing websites are targeting those keywords; you can use phrase like âHow Do I Blog?â Try to look for fewer websites that are actually targeted your phrase. If you have 900 million websites targeting a particular keyword or phrase, itâs extremely hard if not impossible, being new at blogging that youâre actually going to move up to the top of any search engine.
Have a Great Blog Design When you first design your website, try to make an appealing website because you want people to not only read your content but indulge in the appearance of your website as well. Iâve been to some websites that look horrible and it doesnât take me long to move on to another website. Most websites that are disgusting in appearance only holes a personâs interest for three seconds or so. Not a lot of time to read any content so you get the drift at this point donât you?
Leverage Social Media Social media is a very big deal these days, just look at the young kids walking around with their cell phones crossing the street looking down and never look up. Most of them are texting or chatting on Facebook or some other social network media. When you start targeting Facebook and other social network media such as Pin, Tweeter, LinkedIn and others. Try not to just overwhelm them with all sorts of marketing. Remember, most of these people are your friends and family and they going to simply ignore your post. A post here and there of interest will get them moving along the way, and it will also get them to like your website and start promoting it on their wall.
Identify Your Niche Discover what your interest are and what you would enjoy writing about. This is nothing worse than having to write about something you canât stand. If you choose a topic that you donât enjoy, youâre not going to write very much, and as a matter of fact, youâre going to fizzle out in about three months. A blog is nothing more than a diary and needs continuous updates. For some of us, we were little kids and we had a little diary that every day we would write something in it. Well, your blog is nothing more than just that. Except for, you can choose to write things in it every day or every week but whatever schedule you put yourself on, make sure itâs consistent.
Keyword Research Now that you found your passion itâs time for you to do some Keyword Research. Thereâs really no point in writing without targeting keywords that people are not searching on. Use a search engine like Google and target a particular word. Google has a keyword tool that you can use to target particular words or phrases. These will tell you just how many people are searching on those keywords. From there, you need to determine how many websites actually have those keywords. Itâs not very hard to do from this point all you need to do is put your keyword or phrase in quotes and that will tell you just how many websites actually have those keywords. Find keywords that average around 50,000 searches per month which is a little over 1600 searches a day on that particular keyword. If you only get 10% traffic to your website, thatâs 166 potential customers per day; thatâs a great start.
Link Building No links, no visibility. Itâs great to write good content and wish that everyone will just find it. But the truth is, you must have authority websites link to your site in order for your reading to find you. The way to go about doing this is to find yourself some good article directories and start writing to become an expert in your niche. You can also use other blog sites that do not restrict the links and link back to your own website or article. To find yourself high ranking article websites just type in Google âhigh ranking article directoriesâ and it should come back with a list of the top 50 article directories. This will give you a good starter as you sort your order by page ranking so that you know which ones rank at the top. Pick yourself a good starting point like letâs say, five ranking. Anybody under five you will just ignore and use any authority website that has a ranking of five or above.
Blog Comment This may not seem like a big deal but blog comments go a long way to link back to your website. If you align yourself with a good high ranking blog that permits you to enter your signature as a blog link back to your site, then youâre in business. As you become more of an expert on that blog, people will start to follow those links right back to your site. Not only that, the search engines will also follow those links and you will get a higher ranking on the search engines. So every chance you get try to increase your blog comments.
List Building A Weber seems to be the big honcho an email responding services. I believe they cost around $19 a month or something along those lines. However, an email list is extremely crucial to your blog. Thereâs nothing better than having an email list of subscribers that are interested in exactly what you have to offer. Once you become an authority in your area, your subscribers are interested in what you have to say and the offers you make to them. Now, donât always put out something that cost them money you have to give them good free stuff as well. The problem here is setting up an auto responder that has substance. Again, you canât just spew all out junk, you generally have to offer something of value, like letâs say a free e-book or some educational information that has to do with your blog.
Ping Pinging Servers actually promote your blog; they create list of a variety of blogs that have new material. Blog search engines can provide fresh results very quickly by polling only the newly-updated blogs. WordPress actually comes with a ping service as a default. However, there are tons more that you can actually load to your WordPress blog and have it ping every time your blog has been updated.
Social Bookmark Links Social bookmarks are great services that offer bookmark sharing. The service is merely save the bookmark and share that as a resource. There are some services that allow for treating of bookmarks and this helps to get the word out.
AdSense and ClickBank Ads Although when you first start your blog itâs usually not a good idea to plaster a ton of advertisements all around it. Most readers get sick and tired of a tone of advertisements anyway. However, you may want to at least look into Google AdSense as a way of getting paid for allowing advertisements on your website when your traffic starts to grow to maybe 5000 users a day. Now, click bank is something that you could use in your current articles. So when you first start up and write an article about something; letâs say, electronics. You may want to pick a particular electronic and then link to your affiliate link which goes to ClickBank so that when your reader clicks on that to get more information and they purchase a product you received some type of commission.
Learn About Marketing Anyone can put up a blog, but not everyone knows how to market it. This is key and this is the truth, you need to learn how to market your blog. There are a lot of things to learn and a lot of phrases you hear on the Internet about search engine optimization, keyword marketing, article marketing, lead generation and much more. All of these terms are pertinent to the growth of your blog and you need to know something about them. Granted, a lot of these things can be extremely overwhelming but you should have a fairly decent grasp on each of them. Especially if youâre going to be running the blog by yourself.
Fix Broken Pages Go through each and every one of your pages to check for broken links. Broken links can definitely send a bad signal to the search engines and that would be catastrophic. What you can do is look at your web hosting reports. These reports have pages that people have visited, search engine keywords used, linked pages and also your error reporting; broken links. This would be a great place to start because sometimes, you can miss links easily. If you find that there is a page or something that is not working correctly you can always put in a refresh page to send them to a root directory or somewhere else thatâs not broken.
Spam Donât forget about protecting your blog. Although weâd love to think that everybody on the Internet is about business and finding good content and enjoying your website. Unfortunately, thatâs not the case and there are some serious head cases out there. When we generally create our blog we concentrate so much on the look of it and its content along with the marketing, which we sometimes forget that spammers are out there looking to post hideous links. Make sure you have a reputable spam filter that will catch most of the reply Post that are inappropriate for your blog.
In my first week that my blog was up and running, someone already tried to spam my website with a link that went to an inappropriate site. The comment was something like, this is a very nice website with a link to their inappropriate site. The best way to defeat this is to not permit replies to be automatically posted so that you can check out the post for appropriateness before approving.
Blacklist Blacklist are another useful tool to help control bad words in your replies. This is another area we need to perk up on and learn all about the word you do not want on your blog. There are several services that already use an array of blacklist terms and variations of foul words. You can get them from places like Google and Facebook along with a number of other large organizations that deal with this type of stuff on a regular basis. It would be a good idea to learn from their experience.

Learn About Marketing Anyone can put up a blog, but not everyone knows how to market it. This is key and this is the truth, you need to learn how to market your blog. How To Build an Empire With Blogs

How To Build an Empire With Blogs
Well, there are a few free blogging platforms on the Internet like blogger, Tumblr, blog, Jux, WordPress, Posterous Spaces, and Weebly. Some are better than others and to pick one is usually a matter of your personal preference. However, Iâve used a couple of them and would most definitely recommend WordPress because of its versatility and functionality. There are a few sites that are offering video tutorials that tells you everything you need to know about WordPress from setting up, themes, plug-ins, affiliate marketing and much, so I wouldnât worry too much about knowing what to do here.
Before you formulate your headline, do a keyword search to find out how many competing websites are targeting those keywords; you can use the phrase like âHow Do I Blog?â Try to look for fewer websites that are actually targeted your phrase.
Most websites that are disgusting in appearance only holds a personâs interest for three seconds or so. Not a lot of time to read any content so you get the drift at this point donât you?
Leverage Social Media Social media is a very big deal these days, just look at the young kids walking around with their cell phones crossing the street looking down and never look up. Most of them are texting or chatting on Facebook or some other social network media. When you start targeting Facebook and other social network media such as Pin, Tweeter, LinkedIn, and others.
These will tell you just how many people are searching for those keywords. From there, you need to determine how many websites actually have those keywords. Itâs not very hard to do from this point all you need to do is put your keyword or phrase in quotes and that will tell you just how many websites actually have those keywords. Find keywords that average around 50,000 searches per month which are a little over 1600 searches a day on that particular keyword.
So every chance you get to try to increase your blog comments.
The problem here is setting up an autoresponder that has substance. Again, you canât just spew all out junk, you generally have to offer something of value, like letâs say a free e-book or some educational information that has to do with your blog.
Ping Singing Servers actually promote your blog; they create the list of a variety of blogs that have new material. Blog search engines can provide fresh results very quickly by pulling only the newly-updated blogs. WordPress actually comes with a ping service as a default. However, there are tons more that you can actually load to your WordPress blog and have it ping every time your blog has been updated.
Social Bookmark Links Social bookmarks are great services that offer bookmark sharing. The service merely saves the bookmark and share that as a resource. There are some services that allow for treating of bookmarks and this helps to get the word out.
